Range Rover Evoque Personalisation Options

Range Rover has announced details of the range of personalisation options for their new baby Range Rover, the exciting, £30,000 Evoque – the smallest, lightest, most fuel-efficient Range Rover ever built, in classic 4WD and now FWD forms. A dizzying array of colour and feature combinations are available, such as three contrasting roof colours, 12 exterior colours, seven alloy wheel choices and a selection of up to 16 tailored beautifully hand crafted interiors, with other alternative trim and technology finishes. Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director said: "Customers like to make their own unique statement with a vehicle and we have provided individuals with lots of opportunity to personalise their Range Rover Evoque, whilst maintaing the essence of the design. Geneva launch: Saab hybrid-power XWD Phoenix iX concept

Saab have released details of their Phoenix iX concept, showcasing their future manufacturing goals. It features low drag "aeromotional design," inspired by old-Saab aviation roots, a minimalist Saab IQon infotainment cabin, small-but-200PS-potent 1.6-litre turbo engine powering the front wheels and innovative electric rear wheel drive – making an eXWD all-wheel-drive system – a 2+2 cabin "blending simplicity with technology," butterfly doors and much aerodynamic trickery, enabling the Phoenix to net 56.5mpg and emit just 119g/km CO2. Looks interesting, intelligent technology to us, and keeps the turbocharger and petrol dream alive... yay!

Geneva launch: Fastest ever Audi A3

Audi have just shown their fastest ever 'A3 Concept' at Geneva – a compact four-door saloon, offering a thunderous 408PS and 500Nm (from as low as 1,600rpm, to 5,000rpm) and with a wicked 0-60mph in 4.1s and 155mph (limited) potential: A pocket RS4 or RS6 if you will. It will be powered by a big turbo 2.5-litre five cylinder TFSi engine, linked to a slick seven-speed S Tronic twin clutch transmission. Yet, in line with modern manufacturer goals, it will still achieve 31mpg and emit 212g/km of CO2. The very definition of fast, frugal and frightening speed stealth motoring eh?

Geneva launch: Maserati GranCabrio Sport

Following on from their GranCabrio launch at Frankfurt in 2009, Maserati have chosen Geneva 2011 to showcase their 'Sport' version – "Offering more driver enjoyment, thanks to overall improved vehicle dynamics, more horse power, a more responsive and efficient engine and optimised gearshift response." The 4.7-litre V8 gets more poke with 450bhp and 510Nm, and 6% hike in fuel efficiency too. Top speed is now 177mph, with 0-62mph now reduced to 5.2s. And the six-speed automatic transmission now includes MC Auto Shift software, developed from the Quattroporte Sport GT S. The GranCabrio Sport also gets a revised exterior look, with distinctive nose, black grille/headlamps/tailpipes, white front corner splitters, fresh side skirts, 20-inch rims and a red-accent Maserati Trident. And the interior gets ally pedals, Trofeo-design gear paddles and revised sports seats. Nice V8 ragtop sports action! Imagining a lap of Spa, or the Ring in this beast...

We're not going to bring you ALL of the mountain of Geneva news, just a selection of the sexiest stuff... and check this out – Toyota and Subaru's exciting FT-86 II concept, which we flagged o last week (see below). Yum! It looks amazing, will be powered by Subaru's legendary horizontally-opposed Boxer engine and a lightweight/low centre of gravity six-speed transmission, will be rear wheel drive and has been designed to be super-lightweight for a phenomenal power-weight ratio. It should launch in 2012, and we can not wait. This could be very special indeed...

RWD Subaru Boxer Sports Car concept to unveil at Geneva

The 81st Geneva Motor Show is packed with great car releases and concepts and Subaru will be unveiling a cracker – in the form of their "BOXER Sports Car Architecture" concept – a joint collaboration with the Toyota Motor Corporation. Based on an all-new platform, the concept features Subaru's hallmark horizontally-opposed Boxer flat four engine, but will not be AWD, but rear-wheel-drive. Yes! At last! Another great pair of Japanese manufacturers collaborate to make a modern RWD classic. It's most exciting! Subaru will also be unveiling their latest Impreza concept and the new Trezia compact smart wagon. Exciting times ahead... and it looks to be a great Geneva show, starts March 1st.

Fastest Jaguar XKR-S special for 50th E-Type Anniversary

Geneva Motor Show will see Jaguar unveil and launch a special edition XKR-S, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic E-Type. It will be Jaguar's most powerful and fastest series production car ever, with a re-developed and uprated supercharged V8 engine, offering a massive 550PS and 680Nm torque – delivering 0-60mph in just 4.2s, 0-100mph in a staggering 8.6s and 186mph top speed. An uprated Adaptive Dynamics System has been developed to "allow the enthusiastic driver to explore the edges of the handling envelope." Ian Callum, Jaguar Design Director said: "It is impossible to overstate the impact the E-Type had. Here was a car that encapsulated the spirit of the revolutionary era it came to symbolise. We’re looking forward to celebrating achievement and looking forward with our all-new sports cars in Geneva.” It looks and sounds tremendous, no? A fine modern tribute to the legendary E-Type – if not as pretty as the best looking car ever made.

Mazda MX-5 Kendo Special

To celebrate over 900,000 MX-5's rolling off the production line (100,000 of which reached the UK), Mazda are releasing a 'Kendo' special edition of the world's most popular roadster. Priced at £19,255 for the 126PS 1.8-litre soft-top and £22,320 for the 160PS 2.0-litre roadster coupe (OTR), it comes with unique stone leather interior, 17-inch tinted rims, front fogs, heated seats, brushed aluminium style-bar trim and aluminium pedals. “Today, the Mazda MX-5 remains unrivalled as a rewarding sportscar that can also be used for everyday motoring throughout the year. The MX-5 soft-top continues to offer the purest, fun-to-drive thrills, while the Roadster Coupe adds to those thrills with an even more premium experience, and the same exhilarating drive,” says Mazda UK Sales Director Mark Cameron.

Toyota nurture grassroots sprint series

Toyota will be supporting the 2011 Toyota Sprint Series – set-up and run since 2008 by Toyota enthusiasts, Adrian Smith of Fensport and Barry Cross. This season is expected to see a field of up to 50 Toyotas – from old school Celica, MR2 and Supra to modern day Aygo and Yaris – do battle against the clock at six UK sprint and race venues, including Rockingham, Croft and Llandow. The events are split into 16 different classes, so there are plenty of glories up for grabs, and opportunities for all – from race aces, to novices. Adrian Smith said: “The series truly reflects Toyota's sporting history and involvement with grassroots motorsport and we are proud to have Toyota's support. Red Bull Skoda Fabia S2000

The Red Bull Skoda team will make its debut on the gravel of Mexico on March 5th and 6th – in the first round of the 2011 S-WRC series, covering 22 special stages over 365Km around Sierra de Lobos and Sierra de Guanajuato. Last year’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) champions, Juho Hänninen and Mikko Markkula, will be competing in this Skoda Fabia S2000, supported by Red Bull. Current plans are for the team to compete at events in Sardinia, Greece, Finland, Germany, France and Spain. Juho Hänninen said: “Our appearance in S-WRC is a big challenge for the whole team. We have high ambitions, as we want to be among the leaders of the field. The competition is going to be strong, but we have prepared well.” Looks good, great team and wonderful to see Skoda's name in rallying. Good luck team!

Caterham R500 Vs 996 GT2 - Nurburgring battle

This is a fabulous video (from our friends at www.bridgetogantry.com) showing a classic Green Hell dog fight between two brilliant, but very different track cars – Caterham R500, offering 263bhp in a 506Kg shell, and Porsche 911 GT2, offering 462bhp in a 1430Kg shell. You join the action on the Dottinger Hohe straight, with the R500 flat out, swiftly passed by the bigger top-end GT2... much to the annoyance of the Caterham driver, Mario Margutti, who waves his fist in anger! But he's soon riding the rear bumper of the GT2 at T13, before making a great pass through Hatzenbach. Therein follows a 7m36s lap of big opposite lock and air moments in the R500 (including a huge moment at Schwedenkreuz), with the GT2 in hot pursuit. But who comes out on top? Place your bets please... then sit back and enjoy a great fun, well-filmed lap (including rear view camera, to see where the GT2 is). The R500 makes lots of 'errors,' but is driving by the seat of his pants. It's pure quality!

Are you happy now? The new look of the Ferrari four passenger car.

The look, the touch, the feel of joy is in the air has been provoked through one's mind concerning the new Ferrari FF. The official unveiling of the Ferrari FF in Maranello, Italy has calm and sooth some naysayers with it's new modern take on the four passenger coupe. In deep sigh and releasing of breathe I am proud to present to you the all new Ferrari FF, which has cause some stir and commotion on the blogs. Let's be transparent for once. Many did not think that the new iteration of the coupe will be pleasing to the eye. And I have a theory concerning that matter.

The theory is base on progression with unique but beautiful styling. As the styling progresses in the unique department it becomes more apparent that the car in question may become "non-photogenic." Take the Mercedes S class for an example, when it first graced the photos with its presence it was thought to be unsightly and overdone. Although, when seen in person it possess the quality of a rich executive refine touch. Furthermore, the E coupe's back wheel seems as though it is a cripple limb in the photos. However, when seen in person it has a very aggressive forward stance. So that being said, as the styling becomes progressive the photos become an actual constraint in communicating to the unseen eye. Meaning the actual beauty of the vehicle cannot be embodied in the photos, but must be seen in person. 

On a side note some would say that the FF grabs it's proportions  from the BMW Z4. The long extended hood and very short almost none existence trunk deck lid are within reasons of undoubtedly no! Why, you may say? Well taking note from the era of the Italian grand turismo of   the mid 60's to the late 70's you will notice similar proportions given to them. So, you can say it is evolutionary modern take of that particular era and less of a take of the Z4.

New Aston Martin Virage

The tidal wave of sexy cars in anticipation of Geneva continues – with the new Aston Martin Virage. The sleek Virage (2+2 or 2+0) features a 6.0-litre V12, producing 490bhp and 420lb.ft torque via the rear wheels, linked to a carbon-fibre propshaft and six-speed Touchtronic II automatic transmission. Expect 0-60mph in 4.6s and 186mph top end. The new Virage also features a new Adaptive Damping System (ADS) attached to the double wishbone suspension, which "reads the road to provide optimum handling." Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes come as standard fitment too, along with 20-inch rims, Pirelli P Zero rubber, heated sports seats, cruise control, Bluetooth and a 700W in-car entertainment system. And expect a lavish interior to match its stylish exterior, as Aston Martin's finest spend 70+ man hours crafting it all. The best of British is back to rival Jaguar's recent great run...

Lexus LFA Supercar Nurburgring Package

Lexus have unveiled details of their breath-taking, hand-crafted LFA supercar Nurburgring Package, to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. Only 50 of the track day specials will be made, from the 500 total LFA production run. The 562bhp 4.8-litre V10 has been given a 10bhp hike for the Ring special, netting a fabulous 3.7s 0-60mph time. And the NBR Package also features carbon fibre reinforced plastic components including front spoiler, fin-type side spoilers, a canard fin and a fixed rear wing, increasing downforce and decreasing lift, as well as a 10mm reduction in ride height and exclusive wheels and sticky tyres package, for superior handling. Colours will be restricted to matte black, black, white or orange, with black and red, black and purple or all-black interiors. The interior will also feature a pletora of carbon fibre. Customers lucky enough to get one will also receive an annual pass to the Nordschleife and 1-2-1 tuition. We are very excited about this at Road HQ... what do you think?  

New Ford Fiesta S1600

The Ford Fiesta hot hatch is back – with the 134PS Fiesta S1600. The 500-run limited edition special takes on the Ford Fiesta hot hatch mantle, which goes back to the XR2 from 1981, and has included Supersport, XR2i, Si, Rs and ST models. The 1.6-litre Duratec Ti-VCT petrol engine will develop 134PS @ 6,700rpm and 160Nm at 4,250rpm, and will get to 60mph in 8.2s. Based on the 120PS Fiesta Zetec-S, the 120mph S1600 features a unique front bumper, flared lower valance, extended side skirts, large rear spoiler, 17-inch white rims and a rear diffuser outside and leather sports seats/steering wheel/handbrake cover and gear knob and motorsport branded mats and scuff plates inside. It will be available in Frozen White (pictured) or Performance Blue liveries. It's more luke warm, than hot, but is sure to be popular. You likey?

Maruti-Suzuki semakin melebarkan sayapnya di pasar India dengan menghadirkan versi terbaru WagonR yang dinamai WagonR Duo.Sesuai namanya, model ini memiliki teknologi dual fuel yang efisien.

Mobil ini menggunakan teknologi yang dapat menggunakan bahan bakar bakar bensin dan Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) dalam satu mobil.LPG memang menjadi bahan bakar yang sekarang sedang marak dikembangkan di India sebagai alternatif yang cukup efisien dan ekonomis.

Memang kehadiran WagonR Duo ini menitikberatkan pada penggunaan 2 pilihan bahan bakar tersebut. Jadi sederet upaya dilakukan agar dua jenis bahan bakar itu bisa secara aman diterapkan dalam mobil.

Seperti penempatan tangki LPG yang tak memakan ruang besar.Sehingga tak mengganggu penumpangnya,serta penyesuaian-penyesuaian lainnya.Seperti fitur keselamatan sebuah modul pemutus aliran bahan bakar saat terjadi kebocoran tangki LPG atau saat mengalami kecelakaan.

Ditambah dengan sebuah fitur pengembangan baru yakni dual ECU bagi tiap-tiap pilihan bahan bakar yang bekerja secara tandem dikontrol oleh sistem CAN ( Controller Area Network) dengan tombol pengatur yang tersemat di dasbor.Fitur ini memudahkan,karena penggunanya dapat menekan tombol untuk memilih mode bahan bakarnya.

Kecanggihan model ini semakin berlanjut yakni dengan didesainnya tata letak nozzle pengisi LPG yang disematkan sedikit tersembunyi di dalam lubang tangki utama untuk mengisi bbm bensin.Hal ini yang membedakannya dengan model sejenisnya yang biasanya menempatkan posisi lubang tangki LPG pada bagian luar bodi.

Karena WagonR Duo menggunakan dual bahan bakar dan dua tangki,maka mengorbankan ruang bagasi sedikit terkurangi.Namun hal ini dianggap sebagai pemilihan keputusan yang tepat oleh kedua pabrikan ini sebab bagaimanapun juga model ini adalah sebuah model kompak yang lebih ditujukan bagi konsumen muda aktif yang berorientasi pada efisiensi penggunaan bahan bakar.

PT Krama Yudha Tuga Berlian Motors di pastikan akan memasukkan mobil murah mitsubishi ke indonesia hanya tinggal menunggu waktu saja.

Nama type mobil ini masih belum diketahui karena pihak mitsubishi sendiri mesih merahasiakannya hingga peluncuran mobil ini dilaksanakan.

Mobil ini akan di bekali 2 mesin yaitu,1000 CC dan 1200 CC.Selain itu akan di terpkan sistem engine start-stop agar mesin lebih hemat dan mengikuti trend saat ini.

Setelah sebelumnya toyota prius di perkenalkan kepada publik,sekarang saatnya gliran toyota yaris yang akan di perkenalkan kepada publik

Belum ada keterangan resmi dari pihak toyota namun kabar yang beredar toyota yaris akan menggunakan teknologi Synergy Drive yang merupakan andalan toyota sama seperti yang digunakan pada prius.

Yang jadi perbedaan adalah yaris hybrid jauh lebih irit BBM daripada prius.

Sementara untuk tampilannya, Toyota juga akan mempermak wajah Yaris hybrid, setidakya agar tampangnya mencirikan sebuah mobil yang efisien dan ramah lingkungan. Salah satunya penggunaan lampu LED.

Toyota iQ

Toyota mengabarkan akan menampilkan prototipe iQ elektrik pada Geneva Motor Show 2011 bulan depan. Sekaligus merupakan pemunculan pertama di hadapan publik Eropa.

Model konsep ini berbasiskan model produksi iQ yang beredar saat ini namun diberi sistem penggerak bertenaga listrik hasil pengembangan teknologi Electric Vehicle terbaru dari Toyota.

Kehadirannya dimaksudkan untuk menunjukkan kemampuan teknologi mobilitas tenaga listrik pada sebuah kendaraan urban dan diadaptasikannya Hybrid Synergy Drive technology sebagai tenaga penggerak alternatif asal pabrikan ini.

Para insinyur di markas riset dan pengembangan Toyota berhasil mengintegrasikan secara penuh sistem penggerak bertenaga listrik ke dalam iQ yang mungil.

Sistem ini terdiri dari sebuah motor listrik kompak yang ditenagai oleh baterai Lithium-Ion hasil pengembangan terbaru dari Toyota yang disematkan di bawah lantai iQ.

Posisi ini sebelumnya diisi oleh tangki bensin pada model konvensionalnya.Paket baterai ini diklaim tak akan mengganggu ruang kabin penumpang. Sebab memiliki bentuk lebih tipis sehingga tetap mengakomodasi ruangan yang cukup lega bagi penggunanya.

Baterai hasil pengembangan ini mampu menyuplai tenaga untuk menempuh jarak 105 km dalam kondisi penuh.

Model konsep ini akan diujicoba di Eropa pada akhir tahun ini,dan berpotensi untuk diluncurkan pada awal tahun depan dengan didahului sebuah program leasing.

Toyota juga akan menghadirkan model ini di Amerika dengan membidik konsumen muda.Sebab ia akan hadir melengkapi line up produk merek Scion dan juga menganalisa kemungkinan pemasaran produk ini di kawasan lainnya.

Snetterton 300 is go!

An amazing 10 weeks after redevelopment work at MSV Snetterton in Norfolk began – the track work has been completed, and the first test event has been completed successfully. The multi-million pound investment "to transform Snetterton into the UK's best circuit" started in December 2010. And despite the difficult Winter weather, it's all system go, on time. Go Jonny Palmer! The 2.99-mile Snetterton 300 circuit was used for the first time on a test day last week, including this Williams JPH1B F2 car, driven by official F2 tester, Jonathan Kennard, who said: "The circuit is very flowing. There should be some good racing here and the views from the new banks will be great." Good news for UK racing and track day fans. Well done MSV! www.snetterton.co.uk

Porsche Panamera S Hybrid

Porsche is launching a market leader in hybrid performance vehicles – the Panamera S Hybrid, on sale from June, from £86,146. The engine set-up is the same as that seen in the Cayenne S Hybrid (now accounting for 20% of sales) – namely, a supercharged three-litre V6 delivering 333bhp, supported by a 47bhp electric motor, totalling 380bhp and offering 0-60mph in 6.0s and a 168mph top speed and just 159g/km of CO2. The Panamera S Hybrid will aso feature: Leather interior, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Bi-Xenon headlights, front and rear ParkAssist, tyre pressure monitoring, automatic dimming rear view mirrors, Porsche Communication Management with touch-screen satellite navigation and audio controls, cruise control and a three year warranty. Additionally, it features adaptive air suspension as standard, plus the innovative display panel - already seen in the Cayenne Hybrid - that provides the driver with all the relevant information about the vehicle’s specific hybrid driving status. Clean, and green... likey?

Another BMW's Concept......Nice.

The BMW ConnectedDrive concept encompasses the raw essence of what BMW is. It does it by taking on the original styling cues of the BMW era before the "dreaded" Bangle era.( By the way I loved the Bangle era.) With that being said, it displays very sharp creases which are an intrinsic value of the BMW's pass history. Although the lines appear to be in constant motion they manages to give off a clean look while also maintaining a pure recognizable profile. 

The concept is a display of what lies in the future for the next generation of BMWs'. Replacing the rather conservative approach with a more aggressive approach. In reminiscent of the late 90's 7 series stance it poses a similar stance with arching back ready to pounce. This is rather seen as a good transition as oppose to the bland direction which was initially taken.  The concept harvest what any typical concept would harvest. You have the swooping dash board which is tiring at first sight. And of course you have the abuse of LEDs' surrounding the car. And the unforgettable interior that with a "hundred percent" will not carry over. How can we forget that. Nevertheless, it is a stunning study model that I would not mind seeing incorporated in the future cars.
