Caterham R500 Vs 996 GT2 - Nurburgring battle

This is a fabulous video (from our friends at www.bridgetogantry.com) showing a classic Green Hell dog fight between two brilliant, but very different track cars – Caterham R500, offering 263bhp in a 506Kg shell, and Porsche 911 GT2, offering 462bhp in a 1430Kg shell. You join the action on the Dottinger Hohe straight, with the R500 flat out, swiftly passed by the bigger top-end GT2... much to the annoyance of the Caterham driver, Mario Margutti, who waves his fist in anger! But he's soon riding the rear bumper of the GT2 at T13, before making a great pass through Hatzenbach. Therein follows a 7m36s lap of big opposite lock and air moments in the R500 (including a huge moment at Schwedenkreuz), with the GT2 in hot pursuit. But who comes out on top? Place your bets please... then sit back and enjoy a great fun, well-filmed lap (including rear view camera, to see where the GT2 is). The R500 makes lots of 'errors,' but is driving by the seat of his pants. It's pure quality!
